Landmark
University was still basking in the euphoria of graduating her first
set of students from Engineering programmes and the College of
Agricultural Sciences in her 2nd Convocation Ceremony, when
the July edition of the Ranking Web of Universities was released,
ranking Landmark University as the number 1 private University and 15
among the entire Universities in Nigeria. A feat the University
attributed to God’s helps in her operations and the quality of Faculty
and Staff which He has given the privileged to serve here.
Landmark
University which is barely four years old was established under the
auspices of the Living Faith Church Commission Worldwide headed by
Bishop David Oyedepo in March 2011. The University opened its gates for
Undergraduate academic operations on the 21st of March 2011
with three colleges; Agricultural sciences; Science and Engineering; and
Business and Social Sciences. The institution presently runs
twenty-three (23) programmes that are accredited by the National
Universities Commission (NUC) and other relevant professional bodies.
The
Vice-Chancellor Professor Aize Obayan, the Management, Faculty and
Staff of the University are excited about the development, as all is
being put in place to scale new heights.
It
is worth noting that Landmark University is the first Private
University in Nigeria to set an enviable pace in the pursuit of
Agriculture in terms of providing both human and material resources to
revolutionize the psyche of youths towards Agriculture and Agri-
business that will culminate into food security, employment and robust
economy for the nation.
The
University is driven by a Vision and a Mission to eliminate hunger and
food insecurity in the Continent of Africa. In the words of the
Chancellor Dr. David Oyedepo, “Landmark University has come to rewrite
this history, especially in terms of feeding the nation and eliminating
hunger because we believe hunger and poverty are the greatest problems
of the African Continent”
The Institution has in its short years of existence released two sets of graduates who are christened “Pathfinders.”
